Students are to read a book (novel or collection of short stories or poetry) and write a brief plot summary and personal response to the book. This may be turned in any time during the trimester.

Due Jan. 12--Create a myth with a god/goddess you create as well.

Students are to read a novel that falls under the general topic of survival or culture clash (they have chosen already which topic they want to pursue) and answer three questions. They have been given the questions, and books may be checked out from me.This is due when they return from winter break on January 4.

Due January 22: Write a story about a character trying to survive or about a clash of cultures, depending on the novel you're reading in class.

Enlgish 9C

Students will learn roots and their meanings, read ROMEO AND JULIET and examine and create poetry this trimester. They will also partcipate in a reading workshop.

English 10C

Students will continue developing their vocabulary, will learn and practice research writing skills, develop reading skills in reading workshop and read a book together during this trimester.
