Monday: Introductions, Measurement for your pattern size
Tuesday:  Supplies that you need
Begin Types of Fabric

Weds:  More Types of Fabrics Video on Fibers
Thurs:  Fiber Notes with fabric samples
Friday:  History of Fashion video, start history of fashion notes
  Fashion History Notes continued

Supplies needed for the course: 

  • 2  3/4 Yards 45 inch wide fabric
  • Thread to match the fabric
  • Pins
  • Ripper
  • Shears (optional)
  • Hand sewing needles
  •         
  • Hand project of your choice, Embriodery for Senior Quilt, Cross Stitch, Pillow case or dish towel embroidery, Latch Hook, Needle point, you may discuss options with teacher if you have questions

Supplies are due Weds. April 7th, 2010

March 22-26, 2010

Monday:  Fashion History Notes continued
Tuesday:  Fad and fashion poster, Due Weds.
Weds:  Notes on Elements and Principles of Design with booklet assignment
Thurs:  Notes on Principles of Design with booklet assignment, fiber quiz
Fri:  Work on Elements and Principles of design booklets are due on Tues after Spring Break

September 21-25, 2009
Monday:  Introduce decade research project, Media Center, Peer review Monday, September 28, 2009, paper due:  Thurs, October 1, 2009.
Tuesday:  Media Center Research time
Weds:  Class time to complete Elements and Principles of design book
Thurs:  Class time to work on board time line
Fri:  Class time to work on board time line

September 28-October 2, 2009
Monday:  Peer reveiw, research project
Tuesday:  Embroidery
Weds:  Embroidery
Thursday:  Presentations and research paper due
Friday:  Fabric due, Finish Embroidery

October 5-9, 2009
Monday:  Information on sewing machine parts
Tuesday:  Sewing Terms, pattern parts
Weds:  Paper sewing
Thurs:  Quiz on terms, pattern parts and fabric parts
Friday:  Seam sample and work into pot holdersample

October 12-14, 2009
Monday:  Seam sample, Continue with potholder
Tuesday:  Complete potholder, and move forward to drawstring pants, quiz on pattern parts
Weds:  Hand project and drawstring pants

October 19-23, 2009
Monday-Thursday:  Complete potholders and begin cutting drawstring pants, alternating with handprojects
Friday:  Conferences

October 26-30, 2009
Monday:  B's Sew, A's work on hand projects
Tues:  Sewing Machine Parts Test, A's Sew, B's work on hand projects
Weds:  B's Sew, A's hand projects
Thurs:  A's Sew, B's hand projects
Friday:  B's Sew, A's hand project

November 2-6, 2009
Monday:  A's sew, students should start button hole in pants and start sewing seams.

Weds:  Start sewing machine parts oral test, work on projects
Thursday and Friday:  Same as Weds. 
Projects due November 24 and picture day will also be November 24

November 23-24, 2009
Monday:  Complete projects, work on recycle project
Tuesday:  Hand and Sewing project due, Class photo of projects today.
